Sexual Assault Prevention Training for Students
New York and Florida state laws mandate that all individuals in the campus community are provided with affirmative steps to avoid unlawful harassment and discrimination. To maintain a safe and aware campus community, ASA College is working with EVERFI, an online training company, to provide our students with a mandatory course called Sexual Assault Prevention on Campus for Undergraduates. This course will prepare you to identify and help eliminate harassment and discrimination in our campuses. It will raise your awareness in recognizing abusive behavior and different types of misconduct. It will also provide practical ways that you can use to help us maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment, including positive options for bystander intervention.
During your first semester as part of your Freshman Skills class, you will receive an email that introduces the program and indicates how to complete this mandatory course. Please note, that if you do not complete this course during the first semester, you will be placed on hold which may affect your ability to enroll for future classes. Ultimately if you do not complete the training before graduation, you will not be able to graduate until you do so.
In your Freshman Skills class, you will receive explicit instructions how to complete the training and the survey which follows the training. When you have completed both parts, you will receive certificates of completion which you will submit to your Freshman Skills instructor. If you have any questions regarding the training, you may speak with your Freshman Skills instructor, or with the Title IX Coordinators.
