NYS TESOL’s Annual Conference

Christian Perticone, Program Director of the IEP Department, and Derek Baylor, ESL adjunct faculty member, led a 70-minute workshop and gave a poster presentation at NYS TESOL’s annual conference, which was held in at the Crown Plaza Hotel in White Plains on November 14th – 16th. With over 700 attending teachers from around state, and presenters from around the world, the conference provided professors Perticone and Baylor a great opportunity to share their theories about incorporating the content and practices of HipHop within the praxes of the classroom. Their presentation, “Hiphop as a Pedagogical Heuristic: Theory, Implementation, and Practice”, was well attended and generated great interest among conference attendees. Congratulations to professors Perticone and Baylor!
