ASA Fair Transfer – Hosted by Plaza College
ASA Transfer Fair- Wednesday
The ASA College Men’s & Women’s Tennis programs were well-represented on the ITA’s 2013 Junior/Community All-American teams, which were announced last week. The four Men’s and Women’s teams are made up of NJCAA and California (CCCAA) schools.
The Avengers tied Collin College (TX) for the most NJCAA All-Americans between both teams, with four student-athletes earning the distinction. ASA and Collin trailed only Ventura – a CCCAA school – for the most honorees overall (5).
Freshmen Tim Srkal, Rafael Alvarez, Dayana Agasieva and Diana Perez earned the first ITA All-American awards in both programs’ short histories. Srkala & Alvarez received the honor as ASA’s #1 Doubles team, as did Agasieva & Perez. Srkala was also acknowledged as an All-American in Singles.
Agasieva & Perez add the All-American recognition to their NJCAA Second Team All-American awards from this year’s National Championships.
The quartet helped lead both ASA programs to 2nd Place finishes at Nationals this Spring.
“I would like to congradulate the ASA Women’s Tennis team and the four outstanding student athletes named ITA All-Americans on this excellent achievement!” said President Alex Shchegol, “The entire ASA Community is proud of you! Let me remind you, ASA College supports a unique sports program where students can participate in varsity and intramural athletics. Remember, ANYONE can can practice a sport of his or her choice. Your physical health is a foundation for intellectual growth!”
