News & Events

Alabama romped to its second consecutive BCS championship, and third in four seasons, beating No. 1 Notre Dame 42-14 in a BCS championship game.

Alabama (13-1) became the third team to win three national titles in four seasons since polls started being used to crown champions in 1936, and the first since Nebraska from 1994-97.

Tide coach Nick Saban now has won four national championships. Only Alabama’s Paul “Bear” Bryant, with six, has more.

Nick Saban visited ASA College last month with an eye to recruit some of our outstanding football players. Coach Saban praises ASA for starting a program and in four years becoming one of the top teams in the country. He recognizes the opportunities given to students by such programs especially when they reach the national level.

Saban previously served as head coach of the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins and three other NCAA universities: LSU, Michigan State, and Toledo. He appeared on the September 1, 2008 cover of Forbes magazine as “The Most Powerful Coach in Sports”. Saban’s career record as a collegiate head coach is 158–55–1.
