2011 Football Team

The 2011 ASA football season officially begins this Saturday, September 10th as the Avengers will take on fellow Northeast Football Conference member Hudson Valley Community College. The contest is the season opener for both programs. The Avengers’ home opener became the season premiere for Head Coach Dennis Orlando & his staff due to the cancellation of its August 27th contest at Albright because of Hurricane Irene. ASA will return to its main home field, Old Boys High Field in Brooklyn, for their next home game on October 15th against Lackawanna.

The last meeting between the Avengers and the Vikings – on September 11, 2010 – was a one-sided affair, as ASA recorded a convincing 51-0 home victory. The win was the Avengers’ first of the 2010 season and one of three shutouts the nation’s #1 defense would post on the year. ASA would go on to finish the season with a 7-3 overall record, while taking the race for the NFC title down to the final game of the season.

All are welcomed and encouraged to attend Saturday’s game! Lincoln High School is located at 2800 Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm. General Admission is $3 and ASA Student Admission is $1 with valid ASA ID.
