We will welcome our guest speakers Raquel Soto and Mimi Chang, who are Community Engagement and Training Specialists at the Bureau of Community Engagement, Policy and Practice at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. They will be facilitating a Covid-19 Community Conversation that addresses the stressors and available support all New Yorkers may encounter during these challenging times. In part, the conversation they lead will pertain to racial inequities and the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on communities of color.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

Yesterday, April 29, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has made available a website where people can go to check if they qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, “that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying low-income households.” The program’s information can be found at  https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit Eligibility can be determined at https://getemergencybroadband.org/ You can find affordable internet options in New York State here  https://forward.ny.gov/find-affordable-internet-options-new-york-state
