ASA College Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15th to October 15th has been recognized by the United States government as Hispanic Heritage month. As a country, we observe this month to reflect upon the many successes that those of Hispanic origins have contributed to our country. From political leadership and entrepreneurship, to sports, culture and entertainment, the United States has been enriched by numerous contemporary Hispanic figures such as Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Alberto ‘Beto’ Perez (Zumba Fitness), World Champion boxer Oscar De La Hoya, author Julia Alvarez, and musician actress Jennifer Lopez – to name very few. Though in addition to these high-profile individuals and so many others, the positive impact of Hispanics can be felt in the contributions of the many – our medical professionals, our educators, our law enforcement professionals, our business owners, and our armed service members. With varied heritages – from North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean – Hispanics bring often shared values of family, faith, humor, and hard work to every task that they undertake. Here, at ASA College, we appreciate our Hispanic students and employees for who they are and all that they can become. We believe that the possibilities are limitless.
