 Spring Festival Navruz Celebration On March 26th, 2011, ASA The College For Excellence hosted the celebration of the Spring Festival Navruz, one of the oldest holidays in the world. Over 80 people came to learn about the history of Navruz, watch live performances by ASA students and special guests, take part in competitions and raffles, and enjoy traditional homemade Navruz dishes. March 21st is officially recognized by the UN’s General Assembly as International Day of Navruz, with over 300 million people worldwide celebrating the beginning of the new year.  Black History Month Celebration ASA The College For Excellence celebrated Black History Month on February 24th, 2011. More than 100 people attended the annual celebration, which included performances by ASA students, readings and quizzes by ASA faculty and stuff, and a presentation prepared by the Fashion Club of ASA College. The screening of "Red Eye" and a Q&A session with Kevin Gordon, one of the producers of the movie, were the final events of the evening. The program, both educational and entertaining, was designed with a goal of fostering a better understanding of American history and honoring contributions of African-Americans to the U.S. culture and politics.
