Women's Basketball Defeats Monroe 86-70.

Bronx, NY---The Lady Avengers made history this evening with their win over Monroe by snapping the Mustang's 6 season 57 win home win streak. The Mustangs were looking for number 58 as they took a 10-point lead mid-way through the first half. However, ASA was able to claw their back using its deep bench and size to take the 45-44 first half-time lead. The Lady Avengers would not look back, only trailing once in the second half by 1-point. A strong performance was had by sophomore point guard Denyse Moore who finished with 21 points using her patented mid-range pull-up jumper. Freshman center, Leryncia Miller, was too much for the Mustangs in the middle this evening, finishing with 18. Sophomore guard Tyche Mozie added 11 points with 2 three-pointers. ASA improves to 9-4 with the win 86-70.
