Brooklyn, NY- Tonight at St.Francis College, the Lady Avengers cruised to victory over Hostos CC. The team jumped out to an early 10-2 lead and never looked back. Despite only going to the line three times on the evening, the team rattled off 46 half-time points. Every player that suited up scored. ASA was led by sophomore Tyche’ Mozie’s (District of Columbia/H.D. Woodson) 23 points, including 5 of 6 shooting on three-point field goals. Freshman forward, Shanade Bernard (Queens, NY/Qns. H.S. of Teaching), came off the bench to chip in 14 points in the contest. Sophomore point guard, Denyse Moore (Hampton, VA/Woodside) dished out 11 assists along with her 10 points for the double-double. Freshman center, Leryncia Miller (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter’s), added 12 points for the Lady Avengers. Lauren Sanford led Hostos with 14-points including 4 three-point field goals.

This is the second win against Hostos this season for ASA, and the Lady Avengers’ 5th in a row. With the win, ASA improves to 8-4 on the season. Next up for the Lady Avengers: Monroe College at Mount St. Michael H.S. in the Bronx; tip-off will be at 5pm.
