ASA Football Team Wins in its First Ever Game
ASA Avengers' defense was key to shutting down Milford Academy in the second half of their game
Brooklyn, NY----In its very first ever game, ASA’s football team the Avengers, defeated national Prep school power Milford Academy by a score of 56-43 in New Berlin, New York on August 22, 2009. The contest was scored as a scrimmage for ASA and as a regular season game for Milford.
It was a tough match for the Avengers. Milford would actually end the first half leading by a score of 43-36, converting off of ASA turnovers. But the Avengers took control of the second half with their suffocating defense and despite not having home-field advantage. They shut down Milford’s offense completely and put together multiple successful series to give ASA the lead for good and the victory.
