Men’s Basketball: Avengers Lights Out In 104-72 Win Over Philly

Brooklyn Heights----- The ASA men’s basketball team pushed their win streak to three with a very convincing win tonight over the Community College of Philadelphia. ASA improves to 6-3 with the win.

ASA came out in the first half, shooting very well from the field as a team, finishing the half shooting almost 76%. Philadelphia was held to only 29% for the game. The Avengers got a monster half from freshman forward Mike McLeod (Newburgh, NY)[Pictured] who finished the half with 21 points (23 for the game). Freshman guard Rysheen Dorn (Philadelphia, PA) added 15 points in the first half (19 for the game). Dorn had a perfect evening for the Avengers shooting a perfect 8-8 from the field and 3-3 from the charity stripe.

Daquan Brickhouse (Peekskill, NY) had another strong performance for ASA, finishing the contest with 19 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals.

ASA will be on a road swing next week. On Wednesday, December 14th, the Avengers will travel down the belt Parkway where they will take on in-borough opponent, Kingsborough. Tipoff for Wednesday’s contest is scheduled for 8pm. ASA will be back at home on Wednesday, December 21st, at NYU-Poly where they will host Globe in a double-header with the Lady Avengers. The women are scheduled to tipoff at 6pm, and the men’s game to follow at 8pm.
