Men’s Basketball: Avengers Hold on to Defeat Bronx 82-79

Women’s Basketball: Lady Avengers Roll Over Kingsborough

Bronx, NY--- The men’s basketball improves to 2-1 on the season by defeating Bronx CC tonight 82-79. ASA is 4-0 against BCC since the start of the men’s basketball program in 2008.

The Broncos were determined to protect their home court by going into half time with the 43-35 lead. ASA would open the second half on a 14-0 tear that would grow to a 15-point lead in the first ten minutes of the half. Bronx would battle back, but would never take the lead again. ASA made the offensive plays and the key defensive stops to finish the game on top.

The Avengers had a balanced scoring attack with four out of five starters in double figures. Sophomore guard, Sa’Quan Davis (Washington D.C.), would lead the way with 16 points. Freshman guard Daquan Brickhouse[Pictured] would finish with 15 points, 8 assists (only 1 turnover), and 5 steals. Freshman swing Mike Mcleod finished with the game’s only double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Avengers take the floor again in the State College of Florida Classic starting Friday, November 11th. ASA’s first matchup will be Broward (FL) at 6pm.
