Garden City, NY --- Despite going up 1-0 this evening against Nassau, the Avengers were unable to hold on for the win. ASA drops to 1-3-1 on the season and remains 0-1-1 in Region XV Division I play.

ASA struck first in the match on a goal by freshman striker Dorado Phipps (Jamaica)[pictured] on an assist from Oscar Garcia (Queens, NY). Phipps has now has six points in five matches. That would be ASA’s only goal as Nassau would convert three unanswered goals. Freshman goalie Angel Cordero (Brooklyn, NY) finished the matched with five saves in 90 minutes.

ASA will take the field again on Wednesday, October 5th at Macombs Dam Park in the Bronx against Region XV-Division I rival Globe. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
