Women’s Basketball: Lady Avenger Recruiting Class Featured on NYChoops.NET

Brooklyn, NY---- Yesterday, the ASA women’s basketball 2011 recruiting class was featured on NYChoops.net, an affiliate of the well-respected recruiting website, Rivals. The story introduces five incoming freshmen and a transfer that should have an immediate impact on an already successful young program that made an appearance in the District III finals last season under third year head coach, Adia Revell. BROOKLYN, NY - ASA College head coach Adia Revell is proud to announce the schools 3rd signing class at the Brooklyn based school.

Angel Porter & Jade Wharton

The Lady Avengers signed 6 student-athletes that will begin in the fall 2011. The Avengers put together a national recruiting class of 6 covering 4 states NY, CT, DE and WA. ASA plays in the NJCAA region 15 and is one of the few D1 female programs in NY.

Jade Wharton 5'8" G (Howard HS, Wilmington, DE) Wharton, averaged 19.1 PPG and 8.4 RPG as a senior for the Wildcats. he finished her scholastic career as a 1,000 point scorer and a Second Team All-State selection.

Angel Porter 5'7" G (South Shore HS, Brooklyn NY) Porter played the 2009-10 season at Central Arizona College, appearing in 17 games. As a senior, Porter posted averages of 7.1 PPG, 2.2 RPG and 3.67 APG for the Lady Vikings. Porter is a graduate from South Shore in 2009.

Deborah Anderson 5'7" G (Mount Tahoma HS ,Tacoma, WA), The two-time Washington State scoring leader averaged nearly 28 point per game during her senior season, scored over 1,500 points for her career and recorded 11 games of 30+ points. A Class 4A Honorable Mention All-State selection, Anderson wasn't only a scorer as she averaged 6.0 RPG and 5.5 SPG.

Toni Ann Longobardi 5'5" PG (Tottenville HS, Staten Island, NY) a 2010 graduate from Tottenville, HS she averaged 19.3 PPG and added 4.5 APG for the Pirates in her senior year.

Tashauna Brown 6'1" P (Philip Randolph HS ,Manhattan, NY) Brown was a steady force in the paint, averaging 14 points per game and pulling down 12 rebounds per game for the Cougars.

Sashana Bucknor 6'0" (Weaver HS, Hartford, CT) Bucknor was an honorable mention All-State honoree during her senior season while averaging 11.9 PPG along with 12.3 RPG.
