Baseball: Avengers Take Third Straight At Dutchess 14-6

Poughkeepsie, NY - The ASA baseball team rattled their third straight win to end the weekend at Dutchess CC 14-6. The Avengers improve to 20-8 with the win and remain undefeated at 2-0 in Region XV-Division I play.

Freshman pitcher Cesar Estevez (Dominican Republic) started for the Avengers pitching 4.1 innings and allowing all six runs. The ASA bats were alive this afternoon to support Estevez. Estevez was also supported by middle-relief pitcher Fernando Jimenez (Santo Domingo, DR) and closer for the day Carlos Barreras who both did not allow a run the remainder of the game.

Freshman Eduardo Valdez (Los Mina, DR) was 2-3 and a lead-off homerun for ASA in the top of the 1st. He also scored two runs for the Avengers. Freshman Darwin Duran (Dominican Republic) was a perfect 4-4 with four base hits for ASA.

Next up for the Avengers: Doubleheader at Old Boys High vs. Lackawanna on Wednesday, April 13th. The first pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
