Men’s basketball: The Avengers Roll Against Globe 97-69

February 15, 2011

Globe2

Brooklyn, NY---- Revenge was the name of tonight’s game as ASA entered the contest looking to exact just that against Globe. Globe defeated the Avengers earlier in the season in the finals seconds of the game. The outcome would be different this time around as ASA cruised to victory 97-69 in front of their home crowd. ASA improves to 14-6 on the season with the win and 3-3 in Region XV- Division play.

Five Avengers reached double-figures. Freshman guard Mickey Davis (Syracuse, NY) and sophomore center Kevin Briggs (Providence, RI) came off of the bench to lead all scorers with 17 points apiece. Freshmen guards Sa’Quan Davis (Washington D.C.) and Lamont Middleton (Harlem, NY) each netted 16 points for ASA.

ASA got great support from their bench tonight tallying 54 points to Globe’s 36 bench points. Another factor in the win was ASA’s 63-36 rebounding edge. Freshman forward Kendall Felix (Brooklyn, NY) led the way on the glass with ten boards.

At halftime, ASA head coach athletic director, Ken Wilcox, was recognized for his 200 wins as a college head coach. Congratulations, Coach Wilcox!

The Avengers take the floor again this Saturday at 2pm as they play host to the Community College of Rhode Island. The game will be played at St. Francis College.
