Football: Avengers Sign Heralded Running back in G’Darius Stevenson

New Madrid, MO----- The ASA football program is proud to announce the signing of a National Letter of Intent by New Madrid County Central High School (MO) star running back, G’Darius Stevenson. This past season Stevenson was named to the First Team for the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association All-State Football team for Class 3 as an all-purpose back. The six-foot 195-pound back was also named All-SEMO Conference for the central division. During his high school Stevenson received a good amount of interest from NCAA universities such as the University of Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Auburn.

G’Darius was joined by his parents and the head football coach at NMCC High School, Arlen Pixley, on National Signing Day at his high school.

Stevenson will be joining an Avenger squad that finished the 2010 season with a 7-3 record in only its second season as a program.  To date, sixteen Avengers from this year’s team signed with NCAA four-year colleges and universities including seven Division I-A schools.
