Mens Basketball: Avengers Get Revenge against Cecil at Home 70-47 January 6, 2011 ![]() Brooklyn, NY----- ASA avenged a loss earlier this season to Cecil by defeating the Seahawks 70-47. The Avengers improve to 10-3 on the season. ASA shot fifty percent as a team, making 27-54 shots from the floor. The Avengers were lead by Mickey Davis' (Syracuse, NY) eighteen points, including shooting 3-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman guard, Lamont Middleton (Harlem, NY) added fourteen points for the winning team. The Avengers' stingy defense is what really stuck out in this contest. Back on December 18th, the teams' first match-up of the season, the Seahawks put up 78 points against ASA. In that same game Cecil lead guard and Texas Southern commit, Omar Strong, scored a game-high 26 points. This time around ASA point guard, Sa'Quan Davis, worked hard all night limiting Strong's touches and holding him to seven total points. Sophomore center, Kevin Briggs (Providence, RI) led the Avengers in rebounding with eight total including four offensive boards. The Avengers will take the floor again at St. Francis College as they host Region XV-Division I rival, Monroe College, on Wednesday, January 12. Tip-Off is slated for 7:30pm. |
