Men's Basketball: Avengers Rout Waves in Battle of Brooklyn, 105-70

December 14, 2010

Brooklyn, NY----- Tonight, ASA was able to overcome twenty turnovers to win their second game in a row at Kingsborough, 105-70. The blowout score is deceptive considering that the Waves only trailed ASA by three points with sixteen minutes left in the contest. The Avengers surged to a double-digit lead and beyond with full-court pressure and getting easy buckets in transition after KCC missed opportunities.

ASA was lead by freshman point guard, Sa'Quan Davis's (Washington D.C.), game-high 24 points. Sophomore guard, Allan Thomas (Queens, NY), was second leading scorer with twenty. Thomas also dished out five assists on the evening. Sophomore captain, Juanito Moises (New York, NY), and freshman guard, Jamal Francis (Brooklyn, NY), added 16 and 12 respectively for the 8-1 Avengers.

ASA goes down south this weekend to take on Lackawanna College (PA) in the Cecil (MD) Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 17th, at 5pm. The winner will play the winner of Cecil (MD) and Monroe CC (Rochester, NY) on Saturday.
