Women's Basketball Splits another Road Trip in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY � Fresh off of their four-game split in Central Florida, the ASA Women�s Basketball team headed right back on the road to face off against a pair of local rivals. The Lady Avengers went 1-1 on the trip, bringing their overall record to 8-3. Here is a recap from each of the games:

ASA Player of the Game: Freshman Guard Jakoya Duggan (Roselle, NJ) � 13 pts
The Rundown: ASA struggled to find its rhythm throughout the game, their sixth road contest in 10 days. The teams played even in the opening moments of the game but a quick feeling out process turned into a 16-2 Monroe CC run that the Lady Avengers never recovered from. Sophomore guard Symonne Davis (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in seven points in the defeat.

ASA Player of the Game: Freshman Guard Latasia Ward [Pictured] (Bronx, NY) � 17 pts
The Rundown: ASA came back after their loss to Monroe � only their third of the season � and was on the positive end of a dominating victory against Globe. The team shots over 41 percent from the field and had four players in double figures, led by Ward, who also tallied seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Freshman Guard Jakoya Duggan (Roselle, NJ) posted 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds, Freshman guard Cristal Liriano (New York, NY) scored 11 and Sophomore guard Symonne Davis (Brooklyn, NY) added 10.

ASA returns to Upstate New York from December 11-12 for the Genesee Community College Tournament. The first game is a rematch against Monroe Community College, with the second game pitting the Lady Avengers against either CCRI or Genesee CC.
