Three Avengers Named to All-NFC Defensive First Team; Six Others Garner All-Conference Honors

Brooklyn, NY------ The Northeast Football Conference All-Conference teams were announced and nine Avengers have been chosen. Four Avengers have been named to the All-NFC First Team including three on the All-Defensive team. Sophomore nose tackle, Gilbert Pena (Yonkers, NY), and sophomore defensive end Keith Watson (Brooklyn, NY) represented the defensive line on the First Team. They were joined by sophomore defensive back, Ivan Nicholas (Jacksonville, FL), in the secondary selections. Sophomore wide receiver, Malcolm Eugene (Huntington, NY), was the lone offensive Avenger on All-Conference First Team.

ASA was also well-represents on the All-Conference Second Team. Sophomore running back, Wandy Saintilien (Miami, FL), and offensive linemen, Domonique Wharton (Brooklyn, NY) and Vincent Brown (Miami, FL), were all named to the All-Offensive Second Team. Sophomore defensive end, Kevin Robinson (Silver Spring, MD) and sophomore middle linebacker, Joseph Blanks (Pemroke, NC), made the All-Defensive Second Team.

The Avengers finished the season with a 7-3 overall record in only their second season of existence as a program. It was also their first season as a member of the Northeast Football Conference.
