BROOKLYN, NY – A hard-fought battle for Hudson River bragging rights turned into another easy victory for the ASA women’s basketball team as the Lady Avengers defeated Union County College on Monday, 76-44, at St. Francis College.

ASA (3-0) led by 10 points going into halftime and slowly broke the game open behind the most balanced offensive game of the young season.

Ten ASA players put their names in the scoring ledger, all contributing at least five points in the contest. Sophomore guard Christina Delille (Queens, NY) led the way for ASA with 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Freshman guard Jakoya Duggan (Roselle, NJ) had a solid game against her hometown community college, notching nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Freshman center Ariel Thomas (New York, NY) also had nine points, while fellow first-year post Tanikqua McFarlane (Queens, NY) played her best game to date, scoring eight points on 4-for-8 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.

ASA’s next game takes them on the road to face Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD on Friday, November 19. Tip-off is set for 5pm.
