Men's Basketball: Avengers Defeat Scrappy Bronx CC, 89-74

Bronx, NY----ASA remains undefeated at 3-0 with an 89-75 win tonight at host, Bronx CC. The Avengers trailed only twice early in the game to hold off a stubborn Bronx team.

The Avengers would go into half time with a comfortable 47-35 lead. However, the Broncos would not lay down cutting the leaddown to nine close to half-way through the second half. ASA would hold on for the fourteen-point win.

Sophomore transfer guard, Allan Thomas (Queens, NY), would lead the Avengers in scoring with twenty points on 7-12 shooting including 3-5 from beyond the arc. Sophomore forward transfer, Keenan Belle (Brooklyn, NY) and freshman combo guard, Jamal Francis (Brooklyn, NY) added thirteen points for the Avengers. The lone returner from last season's team, Juanito Moises (New York, NY), had a double-double with eleven points and twelve boards including seven offensive. Freshman point guard, Sa'Quan Davis (Washington D.C.) had a solid all-around game with eleven points, five assists, only one turnover, and four steals.

The Avengers return to action on Friday as they travel south to play NOVA and Montgomery-Rockville on Saturday.
