Brooklyn, NY – This afternoon, ASA sophomore power forward, Roberto Colonette, has announced that he has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and collegiate basketball career at Manhattan College. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Honorable Mention All-American and Region XV Player of the Year finished his final year of junior college eligibility under second-year ASA head coach, Ken Wilcox. The 6-7 forward chose Manhattan College over Iona, Hofstra, and Norfolk State.

"I chose Manhattan because of the strong basketball tradition and the great academic reputation of the school. Manhattan seemed have a family feel both on and off of the basketball court and Coach Rohrssen made me feel comfortable on my visit. I wanted to stay close to home so that my family and friends could see me play Division I basketball in the competitive MAAC Conference. I feel that we can be very successful as a team in my two years with Manhattan."

The Queens native and Robert F. Kennedy stand-out finished the 2009-10 season for ASA averaging 13.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 57.7% from the field. Colonette led the Avengers to a 22-6 record in only its second year of existence as a member of the NJCAA.
