Women's Basketball Signs All-State and All-City Selection in Ward

Brooklyn, NY--- ASA Head Women's Basketball Coach is happy to announce the recent National Letter of Intent signing of Wings Academy (Bronx, NY) combo guard, Latasia Ward. Ward will join the Lady Avengers coming off of a very stellar high school career. The 5-9 1,000+ career scorer finished her senior year averaging 21.67 points per game, 5.89 rebounds per game, and 6.89 assists per game. For her individual efforts during her senior year, Ward was named to the NY Post's All-Bronx First Team and was the only New York City player to make one of the All-State teams for Class 'A'. In addition to her own individual success, Ward led a Lady Wings that finished the 2009-10 season with a 26-1 record and an appearance in the PSAL Championship game.

Ward is the second recruit to sign with the Lady Avengers thus far. She will join a strong sophomore class that will return three All-Region XV selections. The Lady Avengers finished the season with an 11-8 record, including a regular season championship, and a trip to the Region XV Division I finals in only its first year as an NJCAA affiliated women's basketball program.
