| Arroyo Named Region XV Baseball Player of the Year; 8 Avengers Named All-Region May 4, 2010 Brooklyn, NY--- The Region XV All-Region Team was voted on today and ASA received eight selections, including the Region XV Division I Player of the Year in Juan Arroyo (Bronx, NY/James Monroe). Arroyo had a stellar season for the Avengers leading ASA in most offensive statistical categories. The sophomore centerfielder ended the regular season with 49 hits(leading the region) on 117 at bats for a .419 batting average(second in the region). He also led the region with 45 runs batted in and home runs with 11. Arroyo was walked 22 times on the season, scored 50 runs, and stole 14 bases. These numbers contributed greatly to the second-year Avengers’ 27-10 regular season record and second straight appearance to the Division I Region XV Championship Series against Monroe College.
