Head Coach - Wayne Martin
During the summer of 2011, ASA Athletic Director Kenney Wilcox announced the hiring of Wayne R. Martin as the second Men’s & Women’s Tennis coach in the school’s history. Coach Martin comes to ASA with a wealth of experience as an intercollegiate coach and administrator. He will be responsible for coaching both teams in addition to implementing tennis programs on campus.
Prior to ASA, Coach Martin had a stellar seven-year NCAA Division I career as Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Long Island University (1998-2005). During that span, he guided the Blackbirds to ITA/College Tennis Online National rankings of 68th in 2002 and 72nd in 2004. He compiled a 100-48 overall record, including two consecutive trips to the Northeast Conference Championship Finals. In 2005 he was awarded “College Coach of the Year” by the United States Professional Tennis Association for his 100th career win and tireless efforts to the sport.
Most recently, Coach Martin worked as Director of Athletics at Raritan Valley Community College in North Branch, NJ from 2008-2011 and Hostos Community College in Bronx, NY from 2006-2008. His primary responsibilities included the administration of up to eight varsity sports, several intramural programs, student-athlete eligibility & academic enhancement, facility operations and special events. Under his leadership, the Hostos Athletic Department experience positive growth and acquired City University of New York Athletic Conference championship titles in Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Basketball.

Martin received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He also received a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Long Island University.
Coach Martin resides in New Jersey with his wife Judy and serves on a number of committees affiliated with the United States Tennis Association.

Assistant Coach - Adrienne Green
Adrienne Green is in her first season as Assistant Tennis Coach at ASA College. Coach Green comes to ASA with a wealth of experience as a professional tennis player, instructor, assistant tennis director and manager. She will serve as the assistant coach for both Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams, assist in the development of community tennis programs and serve as the Assistant Director of Compliance.
Prior to ASA, Coach Green spent seven years as an Instructor/Coach, Assistant Director of Tennis and Club Manager at SPORTIME in Roslyn, NY.
During her tenure, Green excelled in her multifaceted role. As an Instructor/Coach, she provided advanced professional instruction to nationally ranked junior and tournament level players of all ages. As an administrator, she coordinated instructional and competitive schedules, interfaced with service providers, examined and analyzed statistical data to forecast future marketing trends and provided training for new employees. In addition, Green competed in exhibitions with the SPORTIME World Team Tennis program, competing in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Coach Green’s professional highlights include earning an Eastern Tennis Association #1 ranking for Singles (1995) and Doubles (2002) as well as breaking into the World Rankings on the World Tennis Association National Tour.
Green began her collegiate career at West Virginia State University. The school didn’t have a tennis program so Green earned and competed on a Track and Field scholarship. Wanting to continue her tennis career, she transferred to Morgan State University, where she earned a full scholarship.
