This 2-semester certificate program is designed for people who plan to pursue medical transcriptionist careers.

Curriculum is focused on medical terminology and basic medical techniques. The second phase includes intensive training on the use of medical transcription technology and practical exercises geared to increase speed and proficiency.

The NYS Department of Labor projects that medical transcriptionists will have "very favorable" job prospects through at least 2014.
