Students can compete in intercollegiate athletics while attending the college as full-time students. ASA offers 6 intercollegiate programs as a Division One member in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The teams are listed in order of start date: Men's Basketball (08'), Women's Basketball (08'), Men's Soccer (08'), Baseball (08'), Women's Tennis (08'), Football (09').
ASA student-athletes know that athletic accomplishments are secondary to academic success. Each student-athlete is expected to meet academic requirements and agree to academic monitoring and study hall. Progress reports are communicated between the athletic department and faculty advisors. The tutoring center and writing workshop center are available and student-athletes are offered other support services to help them achieve academic success. College athletics builds self-esteem, school and community spirit, and regional and national recognition. Scholarships are available to those who qualify. You can contact the athletic department at 718 534 0811 or via email at athletics@asa.edu
