This 2-semester certificate program provides students with an introduction to many areas of information technology including computer architecture, hardware, operating systems, network administration, and support.

It is specifically designed to teach IT professionals how to maintain, troubleshoot and administer computers and network systems.

The Computer Support Specialist program gives students hands-on training and prepares them to work in the service sector of the microcomputer industry as well as in microcomputer software and business application environments.

Graduates are prepared to take key industry certification exams.

The NYS Department of Labor projects that computer support specialists will have "very favorable" job prospects through at least 2014.
