Business/Management Information Systems
This program of study is designed for people who plan to pursue business administration careers that have a strong emphasis on information technology. Students take courses in programming, accounting, and general education. After attaining proficiency in a programming language used for decision support, they develop and implement a management information systems strategy. Curriculum combines theory in business courses with extensive technical expertise. Students develop logical, critical and analytical thinking, as well as decision-making and problem-solving skills. Career Opportunities Graduates are prepared for a range of management and IT careers, some of which are listed here. The program also provides students with a solid foundation to make the transition to a Bachelor's degree program in Business Administration. The NYS Department of Labor projects that computer and information systems support professionals will have "favorable" job prospects through at least 2014.
