Board of Trustees

For over 20 years, ASA has been proud to support and promote the importance of education to the NYC community, with a special focus on historically under-served students (single mothers, working students, etc.). ASA strongly believes that higher education should be possible for everyone. By providing students with flexible schedules, strong academic and student support, and lifetime job placement assistance, we help ensure that their futures will be successful.

ASA's Department of Government and Community Relations, plays a major role in building lasting relationships with various community organizations, as well as elected officials to help reach communities that can grow through higher education. The department also works closely with the Board of Trustees.

Paul A. Kerzner, Esq. (Chair)
Manager of RENAISSANCE Housing Program, Con Edison
Vice President, Queens Civic Congress
Vice President & Treasurer of Polish American Media Corp.
Mr. Kerzner is a member of Federal Home Loan Bank Advisory Board, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee, and Congress of Italian-American Organizations Advisory Board. He is also on the Board of Directors of Polish & Slavic Center.

Eileen Mullen
Associate Dean, St. Joseph's College
Ms. Mullen holds a Master of Science in Education, English Education, and provides valuable insight and experience to the ASA Board's Academic Committee.

Julanne Reid
Director TRIO Student Support Services, Medgar Evers College
Ms. Reid hold a Masters of Science in Education/Higher Education Administration and has over 20 years of experience in education. She plays an influential role on the ASA Board's Academic Committee.

Liza Kramer
Community Liaison, The Public Advocate for the City of New York.
Ms. Kramer has extensive campaign and community affairs experience in the New York State and New York City government. She is a member of the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center Advisory Board, Board Member of the Brooklyn Boy Scouts of America and New York State Young Democrats, and is a life-member of Hadassah.

Zachary Yamba, Ph.D.
President Emeritus, Essex County College, New Jersey
Doctor Zachary Yamba is the President Emeritus of Essex County College.  He has the distinction of being the longest tenured college president in the history of New Jersey.

Dov Kolker, M.D.
Orthopedic Surgeon, Maimonides Medical Center, NY.
Dr. Dov Kolker is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Kolker graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship at Harvard Medical School and his orthopedic residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
