| Adia Revell Adia Revell joins the ASA Athletic Department as the first ever Head Coach of Women’s basketball. Revell may just be the youngest head coach in NJCAA women’s basketball history, but this Brooklyn-native, has years of experience in the New York City basketball scene as a high school and collegiate player. She has played for some of the city’s top AAU programs for girls. Most notably, under the guidance of Exodus AAU Coach Apache Paschal, she became the first female player from the club to receive a full-athletic Scholarship from a Division I University.
She began her college career at the University of Rhode Island, but the more academically-inclined Revell transferred to Barnard College of Columbia University, and finished off her collegiate basketball career playing in the Ivy League. While at the University of Rhode Island, she was on the Dean’s List, joined the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor society, and made the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete Honor Roll. Revell graduated with a BA in Psychology from Barnard College of Columbia University. While at Columbia, Revell finished her senior season leading her team in rebounds, steals, while finishing 2nd in points (1 point from 1st) & assists. With the opportunity to play in Puerto Rico upon graduation, she passed on the opportunity to heal a stress fracture in her left leg that she suffered two months into her senior season.
Prior to ASA, Revell became the youngest board member for U WANT GAME, a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring at-risk high school student athletes. She also worked part-time with the NY KNICKS as a camp basketball coach and field-marketing representative. Revell has also volunteered as a basketball coach and consultant for non-profit organizations like her alma mater Exodus and the Jerry McCullough SEA Foundation.
