Jon Panella  Jon Panella is the first Head Men’s Soccer Coach at ASA. Coach Panella brings a wealth of experience to ASA as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach as well as a strong playing background. The last two years he was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Globe Institute of Technology where he turned a losing program around into a championship program. In his first season they finished with a 9-7 record and made the post season for the first time in three years. In his second season they went on to win the NJCAA Division 1 Region 21 championship and finished 12-4-2.
In 2005 Coach Panella worked as the First Assistant at Drew University where they went 13-5-3 and were ranked as high as 18th in the nation NCAA Division 3. In 2003-2004 Coach Panella was the First Assistant at NCAA Division 1 Manhattan College. Prior to his College Coaching Career Coach Panella was the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Bayley Ellard High School 1999-2003. In his first season they went 20-1 capturing both the Colonial Hills Conference Championship and Morris County Championship. Besides coaching college and high school soccer coach Panella worked as Head NJ State team Olympic Development Coach from 2000-2007 in various age groups as well has a Region 1 National Team evaluator in 2006, 2007. Coach Panella is currently also a U.S Youth Soccer Coaching School Instructor teaching adult Coaching Licenses. Coach Panella holds his United States Soccer Federation “A” License as well as his National Youth License.
As a player Jon led his High School to Three State Championships at Chatham High School, NJ, lettering all four seasons. He was a First Team Group 2 All-State selection his Junior and Seiner Seasons. On the club end he won multiple State Cups with Union County Sports Club where he was a teammate of U.S. World Cup Veterans Claudio Reyna and Greg Berhalter.
In College he played one season at Southern New Hampshire College where they went 15-5 and were ranked as high as 5th in the Country NCAA Division 2. He then transferred to Farleigh Dickinson University Madison Campus where he was a Two year Captain and team MVP. As well as an All-Mac conference selection. He is a former student of Globe Institute of Technology graduated in 2006; he was also a part of Globe knights men’s soccer team played for 2 years. he was named all region player in 2006 , he’s a former national player for Guyana National team with 27 caps under is belt at the youth national levels under 17 world cup qualifier team, U 19, U 21and U 23 before he migrated to the United States of America in 2002 where had to start in whole life around.
