About ASA Women's Tennis

The ASA Women’s Tennis program has seen a fair share of success since its inception in the fall of 2009. New Head Coach Wayne Martin, hired in the summer of 2011, plans to bring a wealth of experience and new energy to the Women’s program, helping bring back some of its early success as it competes on a local and national level.

In 2010 alone, Women’s Tennis would:

  • Finish the Spring 2010 season ranked #7 in the nation, according to the ITA NJCAA poll.
  • Qualify for the NJCAA Nationals held in Tucson, AZ.
  • Place a Doubles Team in the Nationals Finals.
  • Have three players named NJCAA All-Americans for their efforts at Nationals.
  • Host the ITA Regional Tournament at the US Tennis Center, the home of the U.S. Open.
  • Win the ITA Regionals Singles (Tetiana Kovalska) and Doubles (Tetiana Kovalska/Lyudmyla Livoska) events.
  • Show well at the ITA Small College Championships (Kovalska/ Livoska)
  • Compete in the USTA College Invitational, showing well against four-year schools.
