About Men's Basketball
The ASA Men’s Basketball team enters its fourth season of NJCAA competition under Head Coach Ken Wilcox after finishing 2010-11 with a 17-7 record, a third consecutive Region XV Division I Championship appearance, and commemorating Coach Wilcox’s 200th career NJCAA head coaching victory.
The 2010-11 Avengers opened the campaign on a roll, winning nine of their first 10 games, including winning the Roxbury Tip-Off Tournament in November and reaching the Finals of the Cecil Holiday Tournament in December. Coach Wilcox would earn career win 200 – ASA’s 13th of the season – at Dutchess CC, a 98-52 road victory. ASA would close the regular season by notching victories in the final four contests and rode that momentum to a Region XV semifinal win over Harcum College before falling to Monroe College in the final.
Sophomore guard Allan Thomas (Queens, NY/Thomas Edison) and Freshman guard Sa’Quan Davis (Washington, DC/Suitland) earned All-Region XV Division I honors for their play in 2010-2011.
